Getting Ready…

My name is Warren Dodd and I am in my first year at the University of
Guelph studying International Development.  In the summer of 2006 I traveled to Uganda, East Africa to construct a community centre for AIDS orphans.  This trip had a profound impact on my life and I left Uganda having learned more then I ever thought I would have.  It is because of this experience that I decided to study International Development.  In the future, I am hoping to pursue a career in some aspect of development work in a developing nation.  I have many motivations for going to Botswana.  First, I want to learn as much as I can about the country of Botswana, the challenges that the people face on a daily basis, and about the successful development projects that are taking place.  Second, I am hoping to be of some assistance to the project we will be working on and gain valuable experience in development work.  Finally, I am hoping to take the experiences I have in Botswana and tell others what I have learned in order to inspire them to take similar initiatives.I am extremely excited about the opportunity to travel to Botswana.  I am excited about the challenges that our team will face and the learning experiences we will have.
