Biography
Posted by Nicole Schlossberg on April 15th, 2010
My name is Nicole Schlossberg I am a 23 year old undergraduate student at the University of Guelph. I am studying Child, Youth and Family, with the hope of one day becoming an occupational therapist. I enjoy working with people with special needs and who are disadvantaged. I get great joy in the small things, such as a smile. Some of the reasons behind my desire to go on this trip include the following. HIV/AIDS is not just a “developing country issue” it’s a Whole world issue. If my going to Botswana can teach me and maybe others more about the disease and related issues, I will do what I can to help. I know that I may not make a major difference for the people there, but they will make a major difference for and to me, and I hope to take that back to Canada with me and put it to use. Learning about new cultures and people is an extraordinary opportunity that I want to be able to share. I also want to somehow give back to the country that my mother grew up in.
