Getting Ready…
Posted by Christina T on April 20th, 2009
My name is Christina Thomson, I grew up in a small family on a hobby farm outside of Kingston, Ontario. I came to university unsure of my direction and since that time have truly found my passion. I am currently a third year student at the University of Guelph studying Political Science and History. I enjoy being a student, as it provides me an opportunity to have a constant influx of new knowledge on a daily basis. I thrive on knowledge as I believe that knowledge is the power behind making change.
Last May I travelled to Botswana with a group of Guleph students to participate in a five week Students Without Borders program through WUSC. My experience in this program can only be described as extraordinary. My time in Botswana provided me with insight and understanding that is not possible through the reading of a book or a lecture. I am overjoyed at the opportunity to be returning to Botswana this May for another program with WUSC. I know that my second experience will further enrich my understanding of the world community in which I am part and provide me with knowledge on a wide range of issues. I cannot wait to learn from the people and volunteering experience in Botswana.

Hey Christina!
I hope that you are enjoying the work that you are doing!
Keep smiling
