Hello, my name is Monika. I am a 22 year old Carleton University student, studying Human Rights. I am travelling to Francistown, Botswana to volunteer with SOS Children’s Villages for three months. I am thrilled to be embarking on this journey as it will bring together my love for travelling and working with children.

Growing up with a younger sister with special needs taught me valuable lessons about compassion and the importance of cooperation. In 2007, I decided to travel to Kenya to volunteer in an orphanage for abandoned babies. During this experience I fell in love with Africa and exploring new cultures. This will now be my third trip to Africa and I am looking forward to working in the community and with the children.
